It seems as if Mohamed Khamal has been around for a long time, but he's only 21 years old. He's already fought the likes of Artur Kyshenko, Robin van Roosmalen twice, Gago Drago and Harut Grigorian in Kickboxing. He's no stranger to Muay Thai either, holding wins over Liam Harrison, Michael Dicks and Anuwat Kaewsamrit.

Many think of Mohamed Khamal as one of the rising stars of kickboxing, but recently he's turned his attention to Muay Thai. He picked up two wins in the Muay Thai Premier League at the end of last year and is set to delve even deeper into the sport.

Khamal will fight Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong on March 31 in Thailand for the WBC Muay Thai World Title, presumably at 147lbs, as that's where Sitthichai is ranked #1 by the WMC as of April 2011. It's definitely a very tough fight for Khamal. His deficiencies in the clinch have been apparent in his two MPL fights and that's a major aspect that he needs to work on.

Khamal also wants to be ranked at Lumpinee Stadium so it appears he will be focusing heavily on Muay Thai. It's actually nice to see some Dutch fighters try their hands at Muay Thai. Holland's scene has mostly been centred around Kickboxing for a while now.

He last fought on November 6 in The Hague, Netherlands where he took a decision over Michael Dicks. Before that, he took a decision over Liam Harrison on October 6, both fights being under the MPL banner. He wasn't as active as he has been in previous years, only fighting three times last year, but he's only 21 years old and has a very bright future with tons of time ahead of him.
