A part of me feels like that is the dumbest headline I'll write all week, but then again, it apparently is a story that needs some traction. There was an earthquake in Italy earlier today that was around 5.1 on the richter scale that sent shock through Northern Italy. To compound the issue, someone started a chain message that has spread throughout the fight industry in Europe that two-time K-1 World MAX Champion Giorgio Petrosyan was dead.
This happens all of the time, as I'm sure we all remember TMZ reporting that former UFC fighter Kimo Leopoldo was dead in 2009 and the amount of strange rumors that go around twitter daily revolving around Justin Bieber being a pedophile disguised as a child singer or of course being deceased. The good news is that not only is Kimo alive and kicking, but Giorgio Petrosyan is completely fine as well. Carlo DiBlasi sent out an email earlier today confirming that Petrosyan is fine and also asking anyone who has received a message stating Petrosyan is dead to try to help find the person responsible for spreading the rumor and to notify authorities.
