The MuayThai Premier League is back once again for their third event, this time in The Hague, Holland. Once again, the card is looking great with top talent featured. Once again, there is little buzz for the event on this side of the Atlantic. Despite the lack of buzz, the event is sure to deliver in terms of excitement.
The card has some really outstanding match-ups. Mohammed Khamal takes on Michael Dicks in a quick one month turnaround from his last fight in Italy, where he picked up a win over Liam Harrison. Michael Dicks last picked up a win over Leo Monteiro at the MPL's inaugural event in September.
At middleweight, we have two outstanding fights. Yohan Lidon fights Vladimir Moravcik. Lidon has had a number of fights cancelled in order to prepare for this fight and he should be in top condition, along with Moravcik who fought on the MPL's second event last month. Moravcik fought to a draw against Rosario Presti and I thought he could've deserved the win. In the other middleweight fight, K-1 veteran Nieky Holzken takes on American fighter Ky Hollenbeck. Holzken last beat Marco Pique at the MPL's inaugural event and Hollenbeck is coming off the biggest win of his career over Jordan Watson last month at the MPL's Italy show. Two great fights with highly touted fighters.
As you can see, many fighters on the card are making quick turnarounds from the MPL's event in Italy last month, and it'll be the same situation for Roberto Cocco. He'll be fighting the world's number one fighter from 77-82kg, Artem Levin. Levin always seems vulnerable but unstoppable at the same time, and although his fights may be ugly sometimes, he knows how to get the job done.
At heavyweight, Nathan Corbett returns after a dominating performance at the MPL's inaugural event and takes on French fighter Abderahmane Coulibaly. I wouldn't be surprised to see another vintage "Carnage" Corbett destruction here.
In the two super fights, we've got a battle of two long time veterans of the Dutch scene as Ali Gunyar fights Marco Pique. Expect large portions of the crowd to be here for both men and they'll battle it out for superiority on home turf. L'houcine "Aussie" Ouzgni is also in action against the Canadian fighter Simon Marcus. "Aussie" has had a rough last two fights, losing to Artem Levin and last month to Hicham El Gaoui.
