W5 Kickboxing held their European League 42 event at the Rebuys Casino today, titled “Fortune Favors the Brave,” in a night of fast-paced kickboxing action that saw few knockouts and more fighters going to war within three rounds. Daniel Gallardo was able to claim the W5 Welterweight European Championship with a big win over Andrej Kedves. In the co-main, American Omari Boyd continued to make his home country proud with a close win over Bruno Nincevic.
The main event saw Ondrej Hutnik claim the Light Heavyweight European Championship by downright bullying the always-game Miran Fabjan, including at one point pushing him against the ropes, then up-and-over to the ring apron. Ultimately, Hutnik was able to keep the pressure applied and scored the TKO victory over Fabjan in the deep waters of the fourth round, sounding humble in victory in his post-fight speech.
