GLORY’s most ambitious Dutch show to date could quietly be GLORY 59 Amsterdam on September 29th, which takes place in the heart of Amsterdam at the Johann Cruijff Arena (formerly the Amsterdam ArenA) with another show headlined by the pairing of Rico Verhoeven and Robin van Roosmalen. The main event has been announced as Rico Verhoeven will square off against contender Guto Inocente. It is, if anything, a fresh match up for the King of Kickboxing, in a world where the top contenders have all essentially been foes from his recent and distant past.
Robin van Roosmalen will square off against Petchpanomrung Kiatmookao in a fight that was scheduled for this summer, but postponed due to an injury to van Roosmalen. It perhaps makes the most sense for him to fight in a bigger show like this. The rest of the card is filling out accordingly, although some might be disappointed that the more fanciful rumors didn’t pan out (Badr Hari, a huge tournament, etc.).
Interestingly enough, this show is one of the few to not contain a tournament.
