ONE Championship Pursuit of Power: Jo Nattawut Floors Drai in Round One

Jo Nattawut after his victory at ONE: Pursuit of Power. (ONE Championship)

ONE Championship headed to Kuala Lumpur for Pursuit of Power today for yet another event packed full of martial arts action, featuring former Lion Fight champion Jo Nattawut. Like always, the event featured a number of ONE SuperSeries bouts, including the feature bout between Jo Nattawut and Yohann Fairtex Drai. The fights happened inside of the cage with the smaller MMA gloves, which meant the action moved quickly and saw some thrilling moments.

Nattawut with small gloves is a very scary thing, as Drai found out early on in round one. Nattawut, while he might be known for elbows more than his hands, showed what he could do with MMA gloves by finishing off a dazed Drai against the cage with a flurry of punches ending in a right hand that put Drai down and out. Nattawut looked kind of unstoppable inside of the cage with those gloves on.

Sergej Maslobojev, last seen at heavyweight, dropped down to middleweight to fight Florent Kaouachi to pick up a decision. Maslobojev perhaps could’ve stopped Florent if he didn’t get hit below the belt so many times, but a good performance none-the-less. On the undercard Petchdam starched Josh Tonna to help set the pace for the evening with a round two knee that left Tonna crashing to the mat in dramatic fashion. Definitely a good night of fights for ONE.
