Kunlun Fight 69 Results: Marat Grigorian Puts Superbon to Sleep

A victorious Marat Grigorian (Kunlun Fight/Facebook)

In what was a night of somewhat suspect decisions, the 70kg Kunlun tournament, which has become the de facto top tournament of its kind worldwide, ended in a shocking first round knock out when Marat Grigorian was able to knock Superbon Banchamek out with a flurry of punches. Superbon was at one time an unstoppable force at 70kg, but a loss in the Enfusion tournament last year put a dent in his aura, only for Marat Grigorian to punch a hole through it tonight in China.

Truly an awe-inspiring moment. This also helps to reshuffle the balance of power at 70kg where Marat Grigorian has been struggling to break into the highest levels of the division. Roman Kryklia met Iraj Azizpour in the finals of the 100kg tournament in a fight that saw an extension round and Azizpour taking the decision, although there are doubts that the right man’s hand was raised. It’s still hard to take away from Azizpour, who has had an incredible run in Kunlun throughout this tournament.
