Fight Card for Lion Fight 37 Announced

On Friday, July 28th Lion Fight will hold their 37th event live on AXS TV, featuring two big world title fights among a host of other exciting bouts. The main event is for the Lion Fight Super Welterweight Championship, where Jo Nattawut is looking to defend his title against Petchtanong Banchamek. While this is just one of two titles that Nattawut holds in the promotion, he’ll be facing some of his stiffest competition yet in Banchamek who has over 400 fights to his record.

The co-main sees two Northeastern American muay thai standouts in Paul Banasiak and Chip Moraza-Pollard vying for the vacant Lion Fight Cruiserweight Championship.

“Smokin” Jo Nattawut vs. Petchtanong Banchamek – Lion Fight Super Welterweight Title

Paul “The Reaper” Banasiak vs. Chip “The Surgeon” Moraza-Pollard – Lion Fight Cruiserweight Title

Amine “Moroccan Boy” Ballafrikh vs. Johncy Lindor – Lightweight

Alexander Olave vs. Eric Rocha – Welterweight

Jafar Toshev vs. Geoffrey Then – Lightweight

  • Brian Kelly

Is there some reason they are taking off 3 months between events? Are the trying to emulate glory until recently? Odds over or under 50% the main event gets changed due to training camp injury, or visa issue, or something.

    • I have no clue. If I had to hazard a guess I’d say it had something to do with AXS TV.

They’ve been in flux of late, to say the least, cancelling Inside MMA and have been re-evaluating their combat sports line-up. They’ve got contracts with promotions, which means I don’t think anyone is going anywhere for a while, but who knows.
