Bellator Kickboxing 10: Gabriel Varga Stops Kevin Ross, Petrosyan Defeats Allazov in Italy

Today in Italy Bellator Kickboxing 10 went down, where Gabriel Varga and Kevin Ross battled for the Bellator Kickboxing Featherweight Championship in a much-anticipated bout that saw Gabriel Varga once again become a world champion via stoppage in round one. The shocker once again puts Varga at the forefront of the division and Kevin Ross faces another tough setback. Giorgio Petrosyan and Chingiz Allazov met in a much-anticipated bout where Petrosyan was able to, well, be Giorgio Petrosyan against Allazov, who looked a bit sluggish compared to past performances. Of course, Petrosyan is just that good and has a way [read more]

Updated Bellator Kickboxing 10 Card: Petrosyan vs. Allazov, Ross vs. Varga

This weekend at Bellator Kickboxing 10 we’re set to see one of the best fights of the year in Giorgio Petrosyan vs. Chingiz Allazov. Allazov has been rising up the ranks at lightweight, losing to Sitthichai in 2014 and going on — get this — a 28-fight win streak. Heading into this bout with Petrosyan there’s no doubt that this is the best competition that Petrosyan has faced since either 2015 or 2016 (depending on your view of Josh Jauncey or Jordan Watson), and one of those rare dream matches in kickboxing that is looking like it might actually happen. Chingiz Allazov on Petrosyan Fight: ‘I Just Need to Do What He Doesn’t Expect’

While the name Giorgio Petrosyan has been well-established in the world of kickboxing after his two K-1 World MAX victories and all of his other accomplishments, since the collapse of FEG’s K-1 in 2011 it has been difficult for fighters to find themselves established on the same level as a Petrosyan or a Buakaw. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t new fighters coming up that are just as skilled and fearsome as those of yesteryear, they simply haven’t had the opportunity to overcome these legends like they would have prior. For Chingiz Allazov he’s been quietly climbing the 70kg ranks [read more]

Bellator Heads to Rome For Bellator Kickboxing 10 Featuring Two Title Fights

On July 14th Bellator heads to Rome and will be presenting Bellator Kickboxing 10. Thus far two fights have been made for the card and these two are a doozy. The first is a Lightweight World Championship bout between Giorgio Petrosyan and Chingiz Allazov. This is a tough fight for Petrosyan, with Allazov perhaps one of the best lightweights in the world right now (we currently have him ranked at #6) and a real test of where he’s at in his career. The second fight is one that Bellator has been looking to put together for a while now in [read more]

Bellator Kickboxing 9 Main Event Revealed: Raymond Daniels vs. Djibril Ehouo

On Friday, April 6th Bellator Kickboxing returns with Bellator Kickboxing 9. The card has yet to be fully filled-out yet, but what has been officially announced is interesting, to say the least. The main event sees Raymond Daniels looking to defend the Bellator Welterweight Championship against Djibril Ehouo. Jorina Baars is also in action against Julie Burton. Perhaps the most interesting part of the whole card is the inclusion of heavyweight Alexey Ignashov. Ignashov has a storied career of ups and downs, mostly downs, sadly. Yet he’s still a fan favorite for the hardcore fans from yesteryear because of just [read more]

Bellator Kickboxing 8 Results: Schilling Defeats Verlinden, Varga Back on Winning Track

Bellator Kickboxing held their 8th event tonight, piggybacking off of Bellator MMA 190, in Florence, Italy. Bellator Kickboxing 8 Features Joe Schilling vs. Filip Verlinden, Finally

For Filip Verlinden, it felt like his big break was never really going to happen. The Belgian fighter has fought wherever he was needed, from middleweight to heavyweight and everywhere in between, racking up wins and losses that never quite equated much of a streak in the bigger leagues, but was enough to keep him in the conversation as one of the elite fighters in kickboxing. After a few disappointing showings at light heavyweight, he finally made the drop to middleweight in 2014 and saw an interesting thing happen: he wasn’t just winning, he was beating some of the best [read more]
