In what was one of the sleeper fights of the card for the upcoming GLORY 42 SuperFight Series in Jimmy Vienot vs. Francois Ambang there has been a slight change less than a week out. Remy Vectol will be stepping in for Vienot against Ambang.
Ambang, who is 5-4 in GLORY, the winner of their New York Road 2 GLORY tournament and holds a recent victory at GLORY 33 over Daniel Morales, is known as a tough-as-nails competitor who has shown himself to be fearless against any level of competition. He holds GLORY victories over such names as Daniel Morales (twice), Eddie Walker and Brett Hlvacek. His losses are nothing to snub your nose at, either, including former GLORY Welterweight Champion Joseph Valtellini and superstar striker Raymond Daniels.
Vienot suffered a last minute injury, according to GLORY, and Vectol’s management had been looking to get the French-based fighter on a GLORY card, especially one in France. Cor Hemmer saw the opportunity and offered Vectol the fight with Ambang, with a vaunted spot on the GLORY roster on the line for Vectol if he can defeat the wily veteran.
