This is an interesting idea, although I'm not 100% certain about the execution and the intended market. The game is titled "Fight Game Rivals" being produced by our friends at Fight Game, which for the uninitiated means strong links to Golden Glory. The game is being developed for Windows Phone 7 and might have a way of being used on an Xbox 360 as well through the XBL Marketplace, but it is still not clear if it will be available on anything other than a WP7 device. If you are a mobile phone enthusiast, you probably steer clear of WP7 unless you are a Microsoft enthusiast as well. This isn't a slight at Microsoft as much as it is a fact, backed up by a recent report. Android, iOS (iPhone, iPad), RIM (BlackBerry) and "other" (most likely includes Palm/HP's WebOS) are all ahead of WP7 in the U.S.

Hopefully if the game sees moderate success a port over to a device that has a higher market share could be in order, but for now we can just watch a video of an animated Sem Schilt and Alistair Overeem smashing the heads in of opponents.

On Friday, Erika Kamimura participated in the Shootboxing Girls S-Cup 2011 Japan Preliminary Tournament after Ai Takahashi pulled out of their fight with an injury. In the video, Kamimura takes on Kanako Oka in the quarters, Miyo Yoshida in the semis and Seo Hee Ham in the finals. The tournament puts the 18 yeard old at 22-1 with 11 TKOs going into her fight with RENA at the RISE event on November 23rd.

Saenchai returned to America on the weekend and he took on one of the best stand up fighters in the country, Kevin Ross. Both fighters showed huge heart in the fight, especially Kevin Ross who was relentless in trying to attack Saenchai.  This is an action packed fight that you don't want to miss. I feel like the professional boxing debut of former EliteXC and UFC fighter Kimbo Slice against a 39 year old 0-1 opponent deserves its due attention. The video shows what is one, Kimbo Slice absolutely mauling his overmatched opponent in dominant fashion. Say what you will about Gary Shaw, but Gary Shaw knows how to book and promote Kimbo Slice and make money with him.

If you follow kickboxing in Japan, it's been hard to avoid the female scene over the last couple years. With Shootboxing debuting its Girls S-Cup in 2009 and the popularity of Rena as a result, women's kickboxing, mainly in Shootboxing, has drawn a lot of attention towards itself. This fight was for the Shootboxing Women's Mini-flyweight Championship and was a rematch of the 2010 Girls S-Cup Finals in which Rena defeated Takahashi by split decision in an extension round. This fight was pretty even for 2 and a half rounds until Rena began to tire and Takahashi took over the fight completely. Add a comment

Buakaw Por. Pramuk returned to the ring again today, this time making his return to Japan. Only this time, it was his Japanese debut under muay thai rules. Buakaw has been staying very active this year, having fought on three Thai Fight shows this year. Needless to say, he's won all three of those fights. Buakaw's next fight will be against Warren Stevelmans on Sept. 2 for the MuayThai Premier League. Check out the video in two parts.

After a fairly even first round with the only thing defining it being a knockdown from Amrani, Chi Bin Lim won rounds 2 and 3 quite easily against the seemingly tired Amrani, outworking and outlanding the Dutch-Moroccan to earn a draw after 3 rounds. In the extension round, Amrani came on strong in the first minute, but wore down towards the latter half of the round, a fitting microcosm of the entire fight itself. With the win, Lim moves on to fight It's Showtime 65MAX Champion Orono Wor. Petchpun in a title fight at an event to be determined. What's next for Amrani is unknown, but expect the exciting, talented up and comer to be back fighting for It's Showtime soon.

Absolute domination from Petrosyan. He controlled the fight, slipped almost all of HINATA's punches, checked most of his leg kicks and caught kicks to the body to disrupt HINATA's rhythm. HINATA's lack of head movement made him an easy target for Petrosyan's superior boxing.

Ben Edwards and Mighty Mo recently threw down in Canberra, Australia at Capital Punishment 4. The fighters went back and forth until Ben Edwards utilized one of the other weapons in his arsenal - the knee. Edwards is known for his punching prowess and when his knee came up out of nowhere, smashing Mighty Mo in the chin, it would be the end of Mo's night. Edwards picks up his second win of 2011 while Mo has been knocked out four times in a row. Check out the video of the KO here.

Our good friends at Phuket Top Team do some great work over in Phuket, running a hybrid Muay Thai and MMA camp out of Thailand and churning out some great prospects. One of their top fighters is without a doubt Cyrus Washington. Check out this video fresh from Thailand of Cyrus taking on K-1 legend Kaoklai. Yeah, Kaoklai, the guy that knocked Mighty Mo out with a flying head kick that looked like something out of a Bruce Lee film. Cyrus puts up an awesome fight, and if the rumors are true, Phuket Top Team is trying to put together Cyrus vs. Refi Zouhir in K-1 rules, which would be incredible.

Andy Souwer is one of the few elite kickboxers in the world that also sports a grappling background that he keeps sharp, which has made him a perfect training partner for MMA fighters looking to improve their stand up. There have been rumors of Souwer looking to enter the world of MMA (including our interview with him a few months ago that he confirmed that), with him having been training in MMA for over a year and a lot of his students at Team Souwer have been training in MMA as well. This interview with GnP.de talks about Souwer's stance on MMA as well as his thoughts on the It's Showtime Fast and Furious tournament and what he saw the problems with K-1 were. [source]
