Today in Cyprus, Mike Zambidis made his returned to the ring for the first time since getting stopped by John Wayne Parr in May.

Zambidis took on Russian fighter Danila Utenkov and won a three round decision. There's not much detail surrounding the fight yet and it was quite a surprise to see that Zambidis was fighting today. There was absolutely nothing about this fight on the internet before today. On Zambidis' Facebook page, there is a post that says Danila Utenkov got his arm broken in the fight.

In my opinion, it was a good move for Zambidis to a fight in, as he will be facing Batu Khasikov in Russia on November 5th. Khasikov beat Albert Kraus in April and should be a tough test for Zambidis. A win in that fight for Zambidis would get him rolling again. He was on somewhat of a tear earlier in the year up until the loss to John Wayne Parr. A win for Khasikov would really get his name out there and open up more opportunities.
