Errol Zimmerman and Nicolaj Falin are set to face off in Spergau, Germany on August 28 at the 4th Merseberger Fight Night event. German website groundandpound.de reported the news.
Originally scheduled to be Stefan Leko taking on Nicolaj Falin, Leko was forced out of the bout with injuries sustained from his recent loss to Catalin Morosanu last month. Errol Zimmerman is stepping in to replace the injured Leko. Zimmerman must be chomping at the bit to fight, as he is coming off a cancelled fight in June. Before that, Zimmerman had won two fights so far this year, topping Zinedane Hameur Lain and Mourad Bouzidi in fights where he dominated the opposition. Zimmerman has made 2011 a successful year so far, unlike 2010 where he lost 3 fights, including a rather lackluster showing against Ewerton Teixeira.
Nicolaj Falin is coming off a first round knockout loss to Mark Miller in May at the United Glory Finals. Falin would definitely like to get back in the win column and doing it with a win over a highly regarded opponent like Zimmerman would most likely open some doors for the German.
Also on the card will be a one night, 4 man tournament featuring Alban Ahmeti, Omar Tekin, Fernando Groenhart and Baker Barakat.
