The new season of the Tatneft Cup tournaments kicked off this week, with events taking place in its home of Kazan, Russia on November 29 and today. In total, there were four 70kg fights, four 80kg fights and four heavyweight fights, split between the two events.

We'll start off with the November 29 event, which as of now, all the videos are up on Tatneft's Youtube channel. The 70kg fights resulted in a pair of knockouts, as Tadas Jonkus stopped former Buakaw opponent Abdoul Toure in the first round, while Farkhad Ahmenjanov defeated Russia's Artur Alimirzoev with a series of liver shots in the second round.

At 80kg, Cheick Sidibe stopped Alexandros Chatzichronoglou in the fourth round after a sustained attack of knees to the body over the course of the entire fight, forcing Chatzichronoglou's corner to throw in the towel. In the other fight at the weight, Tatneft veteran Stanislaw Zaniewski took a decision against Rinat Akhmetov over four rounds.

Both heavyweight fights ended in decision, with Hicham Achalhi defeating late replacement Khanif Mirzamagomedov and Mikhail Tyuterev beating Elmir Mehic.

70kg: Tadas Jonkus def. Abdoul Toure by KO in Round 1.

70kg: Farkhad Ahmenjanov def. Artur Alimirzoev by KO in Round 2.

80kg: Cheick Sidibe def. Alexandros Chatzichronoglou by TKO (Towel) in Round 4.

80kg: Stanislaw Zaniewski def. Rinat Akhmetov by decision.

Today's event also saw its fair share of knockouts. At 70kg, Slovenia's Samo Petje scored a fourth round KO over Thailand's Robert "The Terminator" (formerly Kaennorsing). The other 70kg fight saw an under the radar upset, as Vyacheslav Borschev knocked out Ait Said in the fourth round.

80kg saw another Slovenian win, as Miran Fabjan scored a knockdown over Leonildo Evora to get a decision win. Another KO took place at 80kg, as Marino Schouten knocked out Ekapop Sor Klinmee in the first round.

Two first round knockouts took place at heavyweight, as Igor Bugaenko beat Eduardo Maiorino and Turpal Tokaev defeated Mantas Rimdeika.
