Daniel Ghita Says He's Fighting For K-1 On May 27 In Spain

The date of May 27 has been floating around Europe as a potential date for the return of K-1. Well, that seems to have a lot more stock behind it now.

Daniel Ghita confirmed in an interview with mmanews.pl that he'll be fighting for K-1 on May 27 in Spain. There aren't any details at all yet but what Ghita and his team say about upcoming events and fights is usually true.

Spain is an interesting location, particularly because K-1 Global is based out of Hong Kong. I would've expected the first show back to be in Asia, but it looks like they're headed to Europe. It's Showtime might've played a role in the location, as they've hosted two events in Spain,  and have two more events in Spain scheduled for this year, with one possibly taking place in Madrid. The Spanish have proven to be avid kickboxing fans, hosting great crowds for It's Showtime's two events there last year. With the K-1 name behind the card, another big crowd can be expected, probably even bigger than the crowd that It's Showtime pulled in Madrid last year.
