With all the recent news of Mr. Kim acquiring K-1, FIKA being declared a flop because of a porn star, and in general a bunch of confusion, it seemed like FIKA was already done before it even started. This doesn't seem to be the case though, as K-1 Koshien is back, and FIKA is behind it.
The K-1 Koshien 5th National High School Tournament will take place on March 17 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. The Koshien series has produced the likes of Koya Urabe, Masaaki Noiri and Hiroya to name a few.
The Koshien brand seems to be the only thing FIKA has going for them right now and it seems they're basing everything off of Koshien. Their site has been updated in the past week and everything on it is about the upcoming Koshien tournament. From what I can gather on their site, it seems like FIKA is going to try and rely on the Koshien brand to create stars and re-establish the company in a much smaller way than originally planned.
All the fighters for the tournament are shown and profiled on their site. There's a lot of them, so it's definitely possible that some of these guys could be good. If the past indicates anything, there should be some good fighters featured.
