We posted a few days ago that Mirko Cro Cop would be fighting Ray Sefo at the "K-1 Final Fight" event in Zagreb, Croatia on March 10. It's long been rumored that other big name fighters would be on the event, and now there's some confirmation from the organizers.
Fightsite.hr, a direct affiliate of the event's promoter/organizer, Fight Channel, confirmed that Daniel Ghita, Mourad Bouzidi and Freddy Kemayo will fight on the event. Miran Fabjan is also slated to be on the card. There is a press conference tomorrow at the Sheraton Zagreb for the event, and Mirko Cro Cop vs. Ray Sefo will officially be announced. The rest of the match-ups on the card will also be revealed.
Daniel Ghita will be rematching Hesdy Gerges on January 28 for the It's Showtime World Heavyweight title so it'll be a bit of a quick turn around after a fight that just seems guaranteed to have damage inflicted on both fighters. Mourad Bouzidi had a really bad 2011, losing all three of his fights. He'll look to rebound against the much smaller Sahak Parparyan, also on It's Showtime's January 28 card. Freddy Kemayo's last fight saw him losing to Vitaly Akhramenko in November at Fight Code's "Rhinos" Tournament Final.
From the looks of it, the card is shaping up to be pretty good with Cro Cop vs. Ray Sefo and the addition of Daniel Ghita, our #5 ranked heavyweight. The event will be held at the Zagreb Arena, and it is expected that there will be an audience of 25 000 people.
The show is not affiliated with K-1 in any way, despite the name of the event. The event will be largely successful, due in part to Mirko Cro Cop's presence on the card.
