The second SuperShowDown event was held at Clydebank Playdome at the weekend and while LiverKick.com couldn’t be there, we have the results with thanks to Pete Spensley from muaythaiphotos.com. Outside of the 8-man tournament, the highlight of the show has to be 18 year old Jordan Calder winning by KO in under a minute of the first round to take his professional record to 17-0 with 9 KO victories.
The 8-man tournament was held at 59kg (130lbs) and the draw made before the fights started were:
1. Jonno Chipchase vs Jose Varela
2. Darren O’Conner vs Yetkin Ozkul
3. Loz Riley vs Keith McLachlan
4. Ilias el Hajoui vs Carl Copestake
First up was Jonno Chipchase vs Jose Varela which Valera took on points. Darren O’Conner vs Yetkin Ozkul ended in a ref stoppage for Ozkul. Loz Riley was up next against Keith McLachlan, who won by TKO in round 1. The final fight of the quarter finals seen Ilias el Hajoui stop Carl Copestake in round 2.
In the first match up of the semis, Ozkul took a points win over Varela and Ilias el Hajoui moved in to the final when McLachlan was unable to continue.
The final of the SuperShowDown 8 man tournament was Yetkin Ozkul vs Ilias el Hajoui. Clearly in a hurry to get his money and go out on the town, Ozkul knocked out el Hajoui at 1 minute 35 seconds of round 1.
Congratulations to Yetkin Ozkul, the SuperShowDown 56kg 8 man tournament champion.
