Rules:

The LiverKick.com rankings are living rankings that have existed in one form or another since 2009. After the initial rankings were tabulated, they moved on from there. If one fighter beats a fighter ranked above them, they take their place. If a new fighter is introduced, that means that said fighter is ranked above whomever he beat, moving everyone else down.

Fighters can drop or move up in the rankings without losing or winning, depending on the division in general. After 12 months of inactivity, or if a retirement is announced, fighters can be removed from the rankings. These rankings are also at our discretion.

World Fighting League Promo Video

  • Published in Video

World Fighting League, promoted by Melvin Manhoef has a massive card coming up on April 3rd in Almere, Netherlands. It will include 3 tournaments and 7 super fights.

The Main event of the card will feature 2x K-1 Max Champion Andy Souwer against the very technical and dangerous Mohamed Khamal. The other fights have not been announced yet but names like Murthel Groenhart, Zakaria Zouggary, Chahid Oulad el Hadj, Ibrahim el Bouni, Fred Sikking, Luis Tavares, Redouan Cairo, Marco Pique and Ilona Wijmans will be included.

They recently released an amazing promo video for the event featuring many of the cards fighters plus a hooded Joop Ubeda wielding a flaming glove, if that isn't epic then I don't know what is. These type of videos really make me wish all promotions would put this kind of effort into their videos, Well done WFL.

The April WFL Card is Amazing

  • Published in Kickboxing

Remember Melvin Manhoef's World Fighting League? Well they aren't going anywhere any time soon, that's for sure. They have announced their first card for this year in April and there isn't much to say about it other than this; wow. What they have scheduled thus far is a pretty big deal, and there are a lot of solid names without opponents yet as well, meaning that only more great fights will be added. Of course, unless you are in the Netherlands the chances of ever seeing this card are pretty close to nil, but hey.

The main attraction is Andy Souwer vs. Mohammed Khamal in what is an absolutely incredible bout. Khamal has been in some of the most exciting bouts of the last five years or so and Andy Souwer is just coming off of a big MMA debut win at Rizin FF against Jienotsu Nagashima, showing that he's still young and has a lot of years left in him. The other exciting fight is that Enfusion's Ilias Bulaid is about to get the test of a lifetime against Shoot Boxing star Zakari Zouggary.

Andy Souwer VS Mohammed Khamal

Heavyweight Tournament: Raul Catinas VS Brian Douwes

Heavyweight Tournament: Marcello Adriaansz VS Sam Tevette

Zakaria Zouggary VS Ilias Bulaid

Ibrahim El Bouni VS Fred Sikking

Chahid Oulad El Hadj VS Mohammed Messaoudi

Also on the card are Marco Pique, Kevin Hessling and Murthel Groenhart.

WFL Featuring Chahid vs. Khamal II This Weekend in the Netherlands

  • Published in Kickboxing

When reflecting on the history of Dutch kickboxing it is impossible to not look at the legends that have come from the Netherlands. Equally impossible is to not see all of the great fights that have happened because of those great fighters. But there is one fight that stands out that took place in Amsterdam that fans still talk about, perhaps one of the greatest fights to come from It's Showtime and that fight was Chahid vs. Khamal.

The fight happened back in 2010 in one of the rare Amsterdam appearances of the promotion and that fight delivered. Now over five years later World Fighting League will be running the rematch in the Netherlands. The event will be eventually broadcast on Eurosport so hopefully there is footage sooner rather than later.
