Thailand's muay thai tourism is well known all over the world and while it might not attract the same sheer numbers as attractions such as theme parks do, those that it does attract come from all over the world with a pure passion for the art of eight limbs. To get that full, authentic muay thai in Thailand training experience you'd usually need to travel out to more remote parts of the country, but Yokkao has been looking to change that.
Since the uptick in muay thai tourism there have been more and more gyms opening in the Bangkok area, but have the reputation that other "tourist gyms" have, which is to say that tourists can show up, say that they trained muay thai and Thailand and get churned out without learning much, all while still in a major area of the country and getting to soak in the local culture and have some fun.
Yokkao, like I said, is looking to change all of that. Their plans for a gym in Bangkok aren't anything new and they've run into some roadblocks along the way, but on January 16th the doors finally opened to the Yokkao Training Center in Bangkok. Not only is there an adjoining shop where you can pick up any and all Yokkao gear that has been taking the world by storm, but you can train in their fully-realized training center that features training regiments assembled by Saenchai, Manop and Singdam. If you are lucky they might even be there training.
The gym promises to bring intense, championship level training to Bangkok and you can check it out right now.
