Video: Simon Marcus gets Annihilated by China's Fang Bian

  • Published in Video

Canada's Simon Marcus fought in China on the WKF world championship card on Jan 31 against China's Fang Bian and lets say that Marcus did not have a good day. It seems as though Joe Schilling exposed a weakness in Simon's boxing defense, mainly due to the way he pressures forwards so hard with his hands down. This fight shows us that Simon has still not changed the mistakes that got him KO'd before, but there is no denying how tough he is still getting up after being knocked down at least 4 times. Of course Fang Bian is super happy and celebrates by flinging himself on the ground and flailing, while Marcus is upset but does little push ups... slightly awkward situations at the end.

Video: Andy Souwer Vs Kuniyoshi Hironaka 2014 S-Cup

  • Published in Video

Well after watching that 8 hour S-Cup show last night until 4 am, I woke up with with one thought on my mind, if you fight a Japanese fighter in Japan you have to knock him out to win no matter what. Andy Souwer is a man that has fought in Japan so many times and he understands this and it shows. Even though I feel that Japan has probably adopted him as their own by now you can never be sure which Souwer always proves by knocking his opponents senseless.

We are lucky enough to have a video of his fight for everyone to watch where u can see his urgency in the 3rd round to score a KO and make sure to keep the Japanese judges out of the equation. Souwer fought last Sunday on Enfusion Live and now here he is a week later scoring his 2nd knockout in 7 days, not much more we need to say about why Andy Souwer is such a legend.

Video Of Jerome Le Banner Destroying Another Liver

  • Published in Kickboxing

In Saint-Tropez on August 4th Jerome Le Banner claimed another victim with his nasty liver kick. He was facing off against Colin George a very tall fighter from Mike's gym in Holland. During the first round JLB did seem to be getting a little frustrated with George's height and reach, and having a hard time getting inside but always throwing out that left body kick to wear down George's arm. The second round Le Banner came out much more aggressive and it took him less than 10 seconds to land that liver kick of doom and crumple George, you can feel Colin's pain watching him roll around holding his Liver. JLB executed this kick perfectly by setting it up with his right hook then stepping off to the side so that he can land the entire shin across his opponents body. Le Banner did the same to his last opponent Lucian Danilencu, he first dropped him with the kick, then finished it off by lifting him off the ground with a huge body hook.

I can't express enough how much we enjoy watching Jerome Le Banner destroy people in this fashion and obviously we enjoy a good liver kick. I just wish he could have done that in a K-1 Final.

Badr Hari Publicly Announces Social Media Explanation

  • Published in News

Badr Hari has finally made a video to publicly explain to everyone what has been going on with his social media accounts. I'm not sure how these fake accounts got verified without his consent but I can't help but feel there is more to the story. Anyway he has had all these fake accounts closed down and opened his own REAL accounts which he says he will have a team running for him. I wonder how long it will take for this team to do something he doesn't like and then these will become fake accounts as well, hopefully that doesn't happen, but only time will tell. His accounts have been quite active with videos and pictures, so if you're a Badr fan here is his FacebookTwitter, and Website which is coming soon.

Videos: Kunlun Fights #15

  • Published in Video

Well, we had some very interesting results this weekend in China at Kunlun #15, that really mess with the kickboxing rankings. Glory's heavyweight champ and #1 ranked Rico Verhoeven lost a decision after getting two 8 counts in the 2nd round at the hands of Andrei Herasimchuk. So where does this put Herasimchuk in the ranks? is he #1 now? Rico never really got into a groove during the fight and the same can be said about Murthel Groenhart. He seemed to have nothing to offer his opponent Sittichai Sitsongpeenong, which led to the Thai fighter landing a perfect left head kick and ending the fight. Now without a doubt Sittichai deserves to be in the top 10 of the kickboxing rankings after beating Andy Souwer and Groenhart in one night.

Here are the videos thanks to our friends at http://www.fightstadium.com/

Video: Giorgio Petrosyan vs. Erkan Varol

  • Published in Video

Giorgio "The Doctor" Petrosyan had his first fight back after losing to Andy Ristie in November 2013. Watching this fight it sure doesn't look like the time off did "The Doctor" any harm. He looked as sharp and slick as ever but I couldn't help but notice him going back to his old self and kicking a lot more than punching. He seems to have a serious problem with breaking his hands and when you make your living punching people in face that becomes an issue. Nonetheless, this fight against Erkan Varol didn't seem to cause him any problems at all and he looked untouchable, but then again Petroysan is on a much higher level.

Yokkao 6: Thongchai Sitsongpeenong vs Toby Smith Video

  • Published in Asia

Yokkao has just released this fight between Thongchai Sitsongpeenong and Toby Smith from January 3rd of this year. I personally had not seen much of the Australian Toby Smith before I watched him look unstoppable against John Wayne Parr in June. He is a strong fighter that likes to walk his opponents down and land huge elbows, clinch up and smother while he knees them. Against Thongchai this strategy did not work quite as planned. Thongchai is only 17 years old in this fight and he already fights like a crafty Thai veteran by making Smith miss and keeping him off balance for most of the first two rounds. When Toby fought JWP he looked so strong that he couldn't even be moved backwards, but Thongchai had him moving back easily, I can't help but be very impressed with this 17 year old Thai.

The last round of this fight is just crazy, let us know what you think of the outcome of the fight, I found it a little surprising.

Liverkick Video: Sem Braan Vs Tom Duivenvoorde Beautiful KO

  • Published in Kickboxing

Sem Braan is a fighter we haven't heard much from lately, he won the It's Showtime Reality show in 2008 and has been active, but since It's Showtime is no longer, most of his fights have not been available to watch. He is a true Mejiro Gym fighter trained mostly by Andre Mannaart, he used to fight at around 70 kilos, seems as though he has moved up to about 82-83 kgs now and is looking great.

Here is a video from his fight this weekend at the House of Pain event in Alkmaar, Netherlands. Pretty violent but beautiful KO I'd say.

Video: Buakaw Banchamek vs. Dmytro konstantynov Top King Dec 20/2014

  • Published in Video

TopKing World Series had their Final 8 tournament last night. Not sure what the plan was but they only broadcast 1 hour of the event which included Pornsanae getting Ko'd within 5 seconds, Buakaw Banachamek dismantling Dmytro Konstantynov, and Sam-A Kaiyanghadaogym as a the main event. I was a little disappointed that I woke up at 5:50am to only watch the last 3 fights when I was looking forward to seeing other names like Nicolas Larsen, Marat Grigorian, and Reece McAllister.

Anyway here is Buakaw's fight, once again he looks very scary under Muay Thai rules, I really noticed his right elbow counter especially to the left hook to the body, it was so quick that it almost seemed not worth throwing the liver punch anymore. I wonder who his next tournament fight will be, I'm hoping it's Grigorian.
