Whew, what a weekend, right? Glory 3 Rome happened and it was pretty incredible. Giorgio Petrosyan continued his reign of dominance in the world of 70kg Kickboxing and shows no signs of relenting, but fighters like Sanny Dahlback and Davit Kiria came from out of nowhere and impressed the world. Listen to Rian Scalia (@rianscalia) and myself (@LiverKickdotcom / @dvewlsh) as we discuss the latest and greatest in Kickboxing news.

LiverKick Podcast - Volume 8: Glory Buys It's Showtime

  • Published in LK Podcast

This weekend was huge for Kickboxing. Firstly, It's Showtime promoted It's Showtime 57&58, featuring some very important fights and putting on an incredibly entertaining card. That wasn't it, though, was it? On top of that, Glory Sports International announced -- from that show -- that they had purchased It's Showtime and will absorb It's Showtime's staff and fighters into the Glory team, shaking the Kickboxing world up like never before. Rian Scalia (@rianscalia) and myself (@dvewlsh / @liverkickdotcom) talk you through what was a historic weekend for Kickboxing.

LiverKick.com Podcast - Week of December 11

  • Published in LK Podcast

This week we bring you something a bit newer and different, as Rian Scalia (@rianscalia) and myself (@LiverKickdotcom) come to you for the first time with the LiverKick podcast. We kick off with this, a test of sorts, which we recorded on Saturday night after all of the excitement surrounding the UFC show and the Amir Khan fight. There was not exactly a ton of happenings within the world of Kickboxing, but we decided to go over the fan-generated list of Fights of the Year that they've submitted.

Look for an official poll from us soon so you can vote for the Fight of the Year! We also discuss what is going on with FIKA, Cro Cop returning to K-1 action and what to look forward to in 2012.

LiverKick.com Podcast Episode 23 - Joe Schilling Talks GLORY 12

  • Published in LK Podcast

Podcast

Man, GLORY 12 New York came FAST, didn't it? GLORY 12 is this weekend live on Spike TV from the Theater at Madison Square Garden. We decided that it sounded like a good idea to have another sitdown with Joe Schilling as you all seem to love them so much, this time around we were talking about Joe's life post-GLORY 10 money, the quick turnaround between camps and his preparation going into the fight with Wayne Barrett.

As always, I have a lot of fun talking to Joe about Kickboxing and everything in between.

Don't forget to check Joe out on FacebookTwitter and to keep tabs on Can't Stop Crazy.

LiverKick.com Podcast - Week of Dec. 18

  • Published in LK Podcast

Rian Scalia (@rianscalia) and myself (@LiverKickdotcom / @LocustStar) go ahead and sit down to discuss what our hopes are for the year 2012 in the Kickboxing world. After a rather slow week we decided to slow things down and take a look at what we want, formatting-wise and for each division in FIKA's K-1 World Grand Prix season. With the three divisions being -63kg, -70kg and +100kg, we look at how certain countries are over-populated with elite talent while others will be lacking. We look at the format of the 32 best in the world and ask the question of will there really only be one fighter per country, or will they be making acceptions?

We wish you a happy holiday and will be back with another episode after the holidays.
