As we announced on Twitter a while back, we've struck up a partnership with Phuket Top Team in Thailand. PTT is is a breath of fresh air in the already crowded gym culture of Thailand. In Thailand obviously Thai Boxing/Muay Thai is at the heart of why fighters will go to Thailand to train, and if you are headed there to train in Muay Thai there are endless amounts of options. The big difference between PTT and most of those gyms is that there is not only a great Muay Thai program, but a focus on Mixed Martial Arts as well. PTT is an all-purpose gym in Thailand that does so much right that it is hard to argue against heading there to train.
On top of that, the instructors and owners are all extremely passionate about combat sports, from Muay Thai to Kickboxing to MMA and have dedicate their lives to it. Of course, the island of Phuket itself is extremely beautiful and not a hard place to find yourself relaxing after a tough workout.
Cyrus Washington is a serious up-and-comer in the Muay Thai and Kickboxing world who is representing Phuket Top Team on Contender Muay Thai, watch this interview as he discusses the show and a lot more.
Dave Walsh has been covering MMA and Kickboxing since 2007 before changing his focus solely to Kickboxing in 2009, launching what was the only English-language site dedicated to giving Kickboxing similar coverage to what MMA receives.
