If you thought that Peter Aerts was retired, well, you were probably mostly correct. He's been retired. Sort of. GLORY held a retirement fight for him against Rico Verhoeven but it never sat well with the Dutch Lumberjack and he came out of that retirement to fight Dewey Cooper, Freddy Kemayo and then Ernesto Hoost a few years ago. But his last fight was definitely in 2014 against Hoost, meaning that it seemed like he had actually retired.
So consider the world's surprise when Melvin Manhoef's WFL announced that on April 23rd Peter Aerts would be retiring live on Spike TV Netherlands. No, this is not an April Fool's joke. Here's a look at the card thus far. The full card will feature three tournaments and eight superfights.
Peter Aerts vs. Tsotne Rogava
Errol Zimmerman vs. Murat Aygun
Michael Duut vs. Fred Sikking
Ibrahim El Bouni vs. Fabio Kwasi
Ilona Wijmans vs. Anissa Haddaoui
