SuperKombat held their WGP IV event in Comanesti, Romania on Saturday evening in a night that will go down in the history books for the promotion. Ionut Iftimoaie picked up a decision victory over Jorge Loren after being plagued by injuries throughout his career, picking up the SuperKombat Super Cruiserweight Championship as well as the WKN Championship, then announced his retirement in front of a huge crowd in Romania.
The crowd was 34,000 people, setting a record for European kickboxing events. The previous record was held by K-1 in 2007 for an event in Amsterdam that drew 25,000.
