This past weekend in Constanta, Romania SuperKombat presented their fourth SuperKombat World Grand Prix event of this year. It was an event highlighted by big wins by Catalin Morosanu, Cristian Milea, Sebastian Ciobanu and a surprise win from Alex Filip with a huge rolling thunder KO victory that has gone viral all over the internet since the event. But, as per usual, SuperKombat events were a lot more than just the fights, SuperKombat pushes their events to be cultural events in Romania.
This event in Constanta was no different, with the leadup to the event including television stars from America, European pop stars, artists and actors were there, hell, even Remy Bonjasky was in attendance as a special guest at the event, coming off of his recent retirement bout earlier this year.
French footballer Bacary Sagna, who currently is a part of the popular Manchester City, was also in attendance in the event (pictured above in the center), where he was not only a spectator, but he also entered the ring to present a trophy to Alex Filip after his wonderful performance that night.
In addition Romanian pop singer Roxana Nemes, winner of the Mamaia Music Awards 2014 “Best Girl Act” award, performed a rendition of “I Love Rock N’ Roll” for the enthusiastic crowd welcoming Cenik Cankurtaranoglu to the ring.
