Video: Sudsakorn vs. Yi Long from Yokkao 9

  • Published in Video

The fight that had everyone talking from Yokkao 9 in China was Sudsakorn Sor Klinmee vs. Yi Long, a match labeled as Muay Thai vs. Shaolin Gung Fu. Sudsakorn ultimately walked away with the victory, but there are still those who have doubted it. So Yokkao has gone ahead and released the footage from the fight and you can decide for yourself. I don't know, it seems pretty cut and dry to me that Sudsakorn won, what do you think?

Yokkao 6: Thongchai Sitsongpeenong vs Toby Smith Video

  • Published in Asia

Yokkao has just released this fight between Thongchai Sitsongpeenong and Toby Smith from January 3rd of this year. I personally had not seen much of the Australian Toby Smith before I watched him look unstoppable against John Wayne Parr in June. He is a strong fighter that likes to walk his opponents down and land huge elbows, clinch up and smother while he knees them. Against Thongchai this strategy did not work quite as planned. Thongchai is only 17 years old in this fight and he already fights like a crafty Thai veteran by making Smith miss and keeping him off balance for most of the first two rounds. When Toby fought JWP he looked so strong that he couldn't even be moved backwards, but Thongchai had him moving back easily, I can't help but be very impressed with this 17 year old Thai.

The last round of this fight is just crazy, let us know what you think of the outcome of the fight, I found it a little surprising.

Yokkao Looking For the Best East Coast Muay Thai Fighters for Yokkao US Fight Team

  • Published in Muay Thai

Yokkao

Yokkao, one of the premier brands of Muay Thai gear and apparel, is once again turning its eyes to the East Coast of the United States in hopes of finding some new talent to add to the Yokkao US Fight Team. Yokkao has been sponsoring some of the best Muay Thai fighters in the world since their inception and look to continue that tradition, this time branching out and sponsoring fighters within the United States. The United States has become a focal point over the past few years for the increased focus on Muay Thai here, which has only been helped by international Kickboxing juggernaut, GLORY, holding more and more events here State-side.

Stefania Picelli, one of the masterminds behind the Yokkao brand, is currently in New York City scouting some talent from all of the top gyms out there, looking to expand the Yokkao Fight team into the United States. The New York area has always been considered one of the more talent rich areas of the United States for Muay Thai outside of Los Angeles, with fighters like Jay Mattias, Brett Hlvacek, Cyrus Washington, Ognjen Topic, Jarrell Miller, Rami Ibraham and more making their home in that area. There has never been a lack of talent in the New York area and hopefully we'll soon have some of the top fighters in the United States with a stronger presence around the world fighting in Muay Thai.

East Coast fighters that are looking to be a part of Yokkao's US Fight Team are encouraged to submit their record and information to Yokkao directly at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. We urge you to pass this along to any top fighters that you know on the East Coast who are looking to take their game to the next level! You can check out Yokkao on Twitter (@YokkaoBoxing) and Facebook, or at http://www.Yokkao.com.

Yokkao 10 & 11 Results

  • Published in Europe

Yokkao enjoyed yet another successful trip to the UK as their double- event was held from the Macron Stadium last night in Bolton, UK.

Jordan Watson made a triumphant return to the ring as he finished Mickael Piscitello with low kicks midway through their -70kg contest. It wasn’t an easy night for Watson though, as the Frenchman looked dangerous throughout the contest and even tested Watson’s chin with a superbly timed right-hand counter. The success was short-lived for Piscitello though as not long after getting Watson’s attention with the right-hand the bout was called off due to damage caused by Watson’s low-kicks, meaning Watson becomes Yokkao’s new -70kg world champion.

In the second headliner and title fight of the night Pakorn defeated Englishman Greg Wootton via unanimous decision claiming the Yokkao -65kg world title in the process. Wootton was competitive throughout but clearly wasn’t able to match the much more experienced and technical fighter.

Yokkao 10:
Jordan Watson def. Mickael Piscitello via TKO (low kicks) in Round 3
Sabri Sadouki def. Tim Thomas via TKO (referee stoppage) in Round 2
Salah Khalifa def. Steve Long via TKO (referee stoppage) in Round 1
Prathet def. Brian Totty via Unanimous Decision
Ste Foy def. Cathal McDermott via TKO(retirement) in Round 3
Liam McGrandles def. Jordan Williams via Unanimous Decision
Sammy Baruca and Kai Laithwaite fight to a Draw.

Yokkao 11:
Pakorn def. Greg Wootton via Unanimous Decision
Crice Boussoukou def. Brad Stanton via Unanimous Decision
Dan McGowan def. Nestor Rodriguez via Unanimous Decision
Sam Jackson def. Luca Fonda via TKO (referee stoppage) in Round 4

Yokkao 10 & 11 Highlights

  • Published in Muay Thai

Earlier this month, on October 11th, Yokkao returned to the UK with a double header of events; Yokkao 10 and Yokkao 11. They had a lot of hype to live up to after Yokkao's last event in the UK that was one of the most talked about Muay Thai events outside of Thailand in quite a while. Yokkao delivered two big events in the UK to respond, with a champion being crowned on each event. These are the highlights from Yokkao 10 and 11 and for those of us that couldn't be there, this helps to clue us in to what we missed, while those that were there can relive it.

Good stuff.

TaKe-On Productions and MSG Sports Team Up with Yokkao for "Muay Thai at the Mecca 2" in November

  • Published in Muay Thai

TaKe-On

Big news from TaKe-On Productions of New York today, as we just spoke with the head of TaKe-On, Eddie Cuello, and after their wildly successful "Muay Thai and the Mecca" event earlier this year, they are going to return to Madison Square Garden's Theater in November for Muay Thai at the Mecca 2! After seeing a high level of success with the first show, it made perfect sense for TaKe-On and MSG Sports to stage another event at the Theater at MSG. On top of that, they have a new partner for this event, which is our good friends at Yokkao.

Yokkao has quickly become one of the bigger name sponsors for muay thai fighters across the world, from Buakaw Banchamek (Sombat Banchamek/Buakaw Por Pramuk), Kem Sitsongpeenong, Dzahbar Askerov and many, many (many) more. On top of that, they have promoted their Yokkao Extreme cards, which have also seen a great deal of success and international acclaim. Them coming to America and teaming up with TaKe-On and MSG Sports just seems natural and like the best possible fit.

New York has long been one of America's hotbeds for stand up fighting, with the sport of Boxing having a long, storied history in New York, with Muay Thai and Kickboxing seeing a lot of recent success there, K-1 looking to make New York one of their new homes and even the UFC fighting tooth and nail to gain acceptance in New York.

TaKe-On is in action next on August 11th for a Full Thai rules show in Atlantic City, NJ at Balley's Hotel & Casino.

Yokkao Signs Exclusive Benelux Deal with All Combat Sports

  • Published in Muay Thai

Stefania

Word has come down the pipe today that Stefania Picelli of Yokkao has had a successful meeting of Mr. Peter Wetzer of All Combat Sports (http://www.allcombatsports.eu/) which has brought Yokkao products into one of the hearts of the Kickboxing and Muay Thai world that is the BeNeLux region of Europe (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg). This partnership goes well beyond the scope of just having an exclusive, authorized Yokkao dealer within the BeNeLux region, though. There is also talk of more coming from the partnership in the future, with some immediate implications.

What are those immediate implications? Yokkao and All Combat Sports will be looking into building up a team of sponsored fighters from the region. Holland is known to be one of the hotbeds for some of the best gyms and fighters in the world and could possibly be the home of a new Yokkao Fight Team, if things pan out as we've heard. That is exciting news for fighters in the region, who are encouraged to head to http://www.allcombatsports.eu and use the contact form (on the right side of the page) to pass along their information. We know for sure that Stefania and Peter are going to be looking for the best new talents to proudly wear the Yokkao name into battle.

Since it is such a dense region of Europe chock full of talent there are some immediate questions we have, such as; which fighters will Yokkao choose to sponsor first? There are legends like Peter Aerts, Remy Bonjasky, Andy Souwer or even the Bad Boy, Badr Hari based out of Holland, just like there are newer stars like Andy Ristie, Davit Kiria, Henri Van Opstal and more. There is also the question of whether or not we'll see a Yokkao Extreme event in the near future in the area? With a new region opening up like this for Yokkao there seem to be limitless possibilities for them.

For further information check out the new http://www.allcombatsports.eu as well as http://www.yokkao.com, don't forget to follow @YokkaoBoxing or check them out on Facebook, as well as follow Stefania as she treks around the world.
