Glory 27 and Superfights Live Results

  • Published in Americas

Glory 27 Superfight series will begin at 4:30pm PST/7:30pm EST and is live on UFC Fight pass. Then the Glory 27 main card will begin at 7:00pm PST/ 10:00pm EST live on ESPN3 and Eversport.tv (for certain countries).

Should be an exciting card, finally Levin and Marcus get to settle the score with their last fight being a draw. Also the 4 man tournament should have very competitive fights as all the fighters are well matched.

Glory 27

Middleweight Title: Simon Marcus (R3 - Disqualification) Artem Levin -- What. The. FUCK?! This was insanity. I've never seen something like this before. Artem Levin was pushed out of the ring in round one and referee Al Wichgers called it a down and did a standing 8-count. If you know these two you know that they both are heavy fighters. Al Wichgers deducted a point from Levin in R2 for clinching, while ignoring the fact that both men were doing equal amounts of clinching. Then in R3 he took ANOTHER point and threatened to DQ Levin.

If you understand how fights are scored, Levin had just about no chance outside of a KO to win this fight now, and in such a tightly-contested bout between two talented fighters such as this that was remote, at best. So Levin quit, him and his corner storming off and Marcus crowned the new champion. Al Wichgers absolutely decided the winner of this fight.

Tournament Final: Dustin Jacoby (R2 - KO) Wayne Barrett -- What else is there to say? The problems in Barrett's game are all mental at this point, his self doubt is evident at times, especially for a guy as skilled as he is. Jacoby has done it again and has earned himself a shot at the title. Quite a climb to the top for this guy.

Featherweight: Giga Chikadze (R3 - Unanimous Decision) Kevin VanNostrand -- VanNostrand started off strong, but Giga's experience edge came out as the fight wore on, with Giga having a much better second round where he had VanNostrand in a lot of trouble. Really fun fight by both guys.

Tournament Semifinal: Dustin Jacoby (R3 - TKO) Karl Roberson -- Man. Dustin Jacoby keeps improving and Roberson is absolutely legitimate competition and Jacoby was patient, waited for the openings and flattened him multiple times near the end of the fight, Jacoby stopping Roberson in the third after two knockdowns.

Tournament Semifinal: Wayne Barrett  (R3 - Unanimous Decision) Robert Thomas -- Thomas was easily the favorite going into this tournament and many had written Barrett off thanks to what seemed to be a losing streak that began in his mind. Barrett came ready to fight and brought it to Thomas all fight.

Glory 27 Superfights

Middleweight: Joe Schilling (188 lb / 85.3 kg) (R3 - Unanimous Decision) Mike Lemaire (188 lb / 85.3 kg) -- Early on this was all Schilling, with us getting a glimpse into the uber-aggressive Schilling that we've seen before. They stood and traded and it was a fun fight. Joe started to tire in R2 but still did enough to push the pace and hurt Lemaire.

Heavyweight: Anderson Silva (246 lb / 111.6 kg) (R3 - Unanimous Decision) Maurice Greene (250 lb / 113.4 kg) -- Braddock took this one, which shouldn't be a surprise. Braddock is a legitimate top level contender and Maurice Greene is still pretty new to this game. Braddock went to town on Greene's legs, scoring a few downs in the second round, but man, did he lack killer instinct here. For the last round and a half it looked like Silva could have put Greene away, but he simply wasn't aggressive enough. Credit to Greene for still fighting on.

Heavyweight: Guto Inocente (244 lb / 110.7 kg) (R1 - KO) Demoreo Dennis (245 lb / 111.1 kg) -- My god. This was BRUTAL.

Welterweight: Richard Abraham (171 lb / 77.6 kg) (R3 - Unanimous Decision) Pawel Jedrzejczyk (168 lb / 76.2 kg) -- This was a brutal, one-sided beatdown on the part of the hometown favorite Richard Abraham.

Welterweight: Casey Greene (170 lb / 77.1 kg) (R3 - Unanimous Decision) Daniel Morales (170 lb / 77.1 kg) -- This was a close fight. Greene, for the most part, controlled where the action tookplace inside of the ring, but Morales was landing a ton while keeping distance from Morales. Morales actually showed a ton here and was moderately impressive for a guy new to kickboxing. The decision probably should have gone to Morales for landing more, cleaner shots, but hey.

Glory 33 Live Results

  • Published in Glory

Its time for Glory and we will be here with the Live Results and on Twitter @JayJauncey. There should definitely be some exciting fights on this card not to mention Braddock's chance to finally break his barrier and be at the very top of the heavyweight division.

Glory 33 Results

HW Title: Rico Verhoeven (R2 KO) Anderson "Braddock" Silva -- Well, Rico looked amazing High kicks, low kicks, angles, nice counter punches everything was on point. Eventually he dropped Braddock 3 times in 2nd round twice with low kicks and one with a left high kick to get the victory. If Badr doesn't take this fight seriously hes in big trouble.

Tournament Final: Matt Embree (R2 KO) Giga Chikadze -- First round was pretty even round until the final second when Embree caught Gigas kick and landed an amazing overhand dropping Chikadze but he was saved by the bell. 2nd round Embree comes out hard and finally lands that overhand right again and Chikadze is falls like a sack of potatoes. I am really impressed with Embree, his hands have never looked so great, if he fight like this he can give either Van Roosmalen or Varga problems.

Guto Inocente (Majority Dec) Hesdy Gerges -- Frustrating fight, with Inocente moving well and throwing spinning techniques but holding as soon as Gerges got close. Gerges was the aggressor the whole fight but neither men landed much of significance. Not sure I agree with that decision though, Hesdy and winning decisions do not go hand in hand.

FW semi: Matt Embree (R2 TKO) ChiBin Lim -- 1st round Embree looking great using hard punches and a few low kicks, while Lim covers up lots. 2nd round both fighters go for a left hook but Embrees lands first and drops Lim, Embree swarms Lim once hes up and lands a monster left hook and drops Lim at the bell but 2 knockdowns means the fights over.

FW semi: Giga Chikadze (Majority Dec) Serhiy Adamchuk -- First and 2nd round are very close rounds with both guys throwing kicks from a distance very hard to score. 3rd round Adamchuk turned up the heat a bit and started landing some nice punches and a high kick.

Super Fight Series Results

MW Title: Jason Wilnis (R3 - TKO) Simon Marcus -- Marcus looks on fire in round 1 just like their previous fight. 2nd round was pretty close until Marcus decided to drop his hands and act cocky in the corner and Wilnis landed a few punches and ref decided to give him an 8 count, I personally thought he was acting but the ref can see his eyes better than us. 3rd round Wilnis wobbles Marcus with a right hand and drops him with a combo, then drops him again, and swarms 1 more time and the ref has seen enough, Wilnis is the new Middleweight champ.

Chi Lewis-Parry (R2 - TKO) Anthony Mcdonald -- Chopper took the first round really easy almost didn't do anything seemingly waiting for the short notice opponent to gas in the 2nd round which worked perfectly and after dropping Mcdonald twice with knees and punches in the 2nd, Mcdonald couldn't answer the bell for Rd 3.

Jessica Gladstone (Majority Dec) Daniela Graf -- Gladstone being the much taller fighter used her reach with body kicks and straight punches to keep Graf away until the 3rd round when Graf started to land a few punches but it was too little too late. Great fight by Gladstone especially taking this fight on a week notice.

Francois Ambang (Unanimous Dec) Daniel Morales -- Very close fight, Morales improved greatly from their first by training at Coliseum but Ambang just looked like he was throwing with more power and explosiveness which ultimately won him the fight. If Morales keeps this improvement up hes going to become a solid fighter for this weight class.

Kevin VanNostrand (R2 - TKO) David Moore -- Moore was absolutely out of his league in this fight here. In round one Van Nostrand was picking him apart and Moore literally turtled and turned his back, which... Yikes. Van Nostrand looks good and gets a quick stoppage in the second round, but Moore was so clearly out of his league here.

Glory 34 Denver: Live Results

  • Published in Americas

Glory 34 is starting in just under 30 mins on UFC fight pass for the super fight series and then over to eversport.tv or ESPN3 at midnight ET for the main card. I have a strong feeling this is going to be a night of exciting fights and probably one of the best cards in America since Glory's 8-man tournament in LA. For anyone that misses it, the show will replay on Sunday at 7pm ET on ESPN2 or we have the results for you fight here.

GLORY 34 DENVER RESULTS

Welterweight Title: Nieky Holzken def. Murthel Groenhart by Unanimous Dec - Round 1: Feeling out round for the most part until the last minute of the round, Murthel landing nice jabs and a nice uppercut through the round while Holzken is landing hard inside leg kicks and looking busier than his usual first round. Round 2: All Holzken this round landing lots and lots of low kicks which are taking their toll now. Round 3: More of the same from Holzken hes running away with this fight. Murthel is not throwing enough and standing around too much to get low kicked. This is a different Holzken that we have seen in the past 2 years, no more standing around covering up, hes moving and kicking much more. Round 4: Closer round with Groenhart starting to go for broke, nothing landing clean though but Nieky keeps just losing his balance and getting up very slowly but that's been happening for the past 3 rounds. Round 5: Great round for Groenhart but it seems like too little too late he sat back too many rounds in the beginning of the fight, he landed lots of punches and some hard knees to the body but couldn't put hurt Nieky enough to drop him.

Middleweight Co-Headline Bout: Israel Adesanya  def. Yousri Belgaroui by Split Dec- Round 1: Israel looking calm slipping punches and trying to counter but not landing too many clean strikes but still lands more than Belgaroui who is missing a lot. Round 2: Emotions getting to Israel a bit making him stand and trade instead of picking Belgaroui off like the first round allowing himself to be hit more, very close round. Round 3: Ugh, another close round Israel landing the cleaner, harder shots but Belgaroui throwing more and landing more little shots, hard fight to judge.

Simon Marcus def. Dustin Jacoby by TKO Rd 1 (doctor stoppage) - Round 1: Great round for Jacoby, countering kicks with his front kick (teep) and landing nice punches but Marcus lands a hard knee and hurts Jacoby right at the end of the round. Doctor ends up stopping the right before the 2nd round due to Jacoby having an injured (possibly broken) right arm.

Middleweight Tournament Semi-Final: Israel Adesanya def. Robert Thomas by Unanimous Dec - Round 1: Entertaining first feel out round for the 2 fighters Israel wobbling Thomas once during the round with a right hand giving him the round. Round 2: Hesitant Thomas ends up walking into a really hard left knee to the body and gets an 8 count. Israel didn't push too hard to finish the fight though so Thomas makes it through. Round 3: Again and all Adesanya fight controlling the fight and keeping Thomas guessing. With 15 seconds left in the round Israel lands a left high kick and drops Thomas for the 2nd time in the fight.

Middleweight  Tournament Semi-Final: Yousri Belgaroui def. Ariel Machado by Unanimous Dec - Round 1: Even round, Belgaroui trying to keep distance while Machado landing good low kicks, fighters exchange some slightly angry nudges after the bell. Round 2: Machado slowing down a lot this round could be because he was a late replacement. Belgaroui trying many flying knees and just being the busier fighter but needs to start blocking low kicks. Round 3: Both guys looking extremely tired, I cant imagine either of them fighting again tonight. Machado landed all the more damaging shots this round Belgaroui took tired to throw any power at all. Lets hope for their sake there isn't an extra round.

GLORY 34 SUPERFIGHT SERIES RESULTS

Featherweight Title: Robin van Roosmalen def. Gabriel Varga by TKO Rd 4 (corner stoppage) - Round 1: Varga looking great with his hands keeping his punches long but still ends the round with a cut over the right eye and Robin with blood coming from his nose but varga still much more active, Vargas round. Round 2: Varga gets dropped with a left hook early and he stands up and tells the ref his corner had forgot to put his mouth guard in so that hook chipped his tooth. Robin drops Varga again with a combo, liver punch doing the most damage. Varga up at 8, not looking good but survives the round. Round 3: Another rough round for Varga getting pushed around the ring but Robin. Robin really looks strong at this weight and now hes landing a lot of leg kicks. Round 4: Robin again pressing Varga again and landing some hooks and seems to be gaining momentum. End of the round has Robin unleashing hell on Varga on the ropes, Varga is so tough and staying up. Vargas corner stops the fight after round 4.

Saulo Cavalari def. Brian Douwes by Unanimous Dec - Round 1: Both guys throwing heavy hands all round but Cavalari landing hard leg kicks as well. Douwes clinching a little too much and getting warned by the ref. Round 2: All Cavalari low kicking a tiring Douwes to hell. Round 3: Both guys tiring and nothing significant this round but still Cavalari's round.

Thongchai Sitsongpeenong def. Casey Greene by KO Rd 2 - Round 1: One sided round with Sitsongpeenong landing many punches and hurting Greene twice even dropping him at the end of the round but the ref called no down. Round 2: Sitsongpeenong smashes Greene with a few more right hands and knocks him down for an 8 count. Greene stands up and is on terribly wobbly legs but the ref lets him keep going and take some unnecessary punishment as the commission is waving it off from outside the ring, Greene gets floored with another left hook.

Richard Abraham def. Mike "Blood Diamond" Mathetha by Unanimous Dec - Round 1: Awkward first round for both guys Mathetha landing some hard left kicks though. Round 2: was going well for Blood Diamond until Abraham landed a front kick to his knee and hyper extended Mathetha's knee now hes got a nasty limp. Round 3: Mathetha has ridiculous heart, his leg was buckling with every kick he threw but he kept kicking all round and firing back at Abraham. Abraham really should have been kicking more he may have been able to at least score a knockdown.

Justin Houghton def. Jonathon Wyderko by Split Dec - Round 1: pretty even round Houghton throwing many flying knees with no success but probably won the round on being active. Round 2: no more flying knees by Houghton and a much closer round but his chin is getting very high he needs to be careful. Round 3: Both too tired tired to throw anything of note not a very good round.

Glory 37 Live Results

  • Published in Americas

Glory 37 starts in just under one hour on UFC Fight Pass with the super fight series followed by the main card Live on ESPN3 or eversport.tv in Canada. It should be a great night of fights so tune in, if for some reason you cannot we will have the live results here for you.

GLORY 37 Main Card Results

Middleweight Title Headline Bout: Jason Wilnis (c) def. Israel Adesayna by Unanimous Dec - Rd1: Israel throwing lots of hands and landing the straight right to the body at will but Wilnis countering everything with low kicks and landing 90% of them. Rd2: Israel landing some nice fancy kicks on Wilnis guard and sliding some nice uppercuts and body punches through. Wilnis still landing the low kicks and a couple left hooks this round that didn't phase Israel. Rd3: Wilnis lands a few right hands this round while Israel trying to slip all the punches. Adesanya still sliding a few straight punches through the middle. Rd4: Israel is being much more active in all these rounds but Wilnis is moving forwards and landing about 1 or 2 punches in the round and low kicks. Rd5: Adesanya got his groove this round and was making Wilnis miss everything while Israel was landing hard uppercuts and straight punches, great round for Adesanya.

Welterweight Tournament Final Bout: Yoann Kongolo def. Karim Benmansour by KO Rd 3 (liver punch, right hook combo) -  Rd1: Kongolo pressuring the savvy Benmansour and landing a few good punches but Benmansour making Kongolo miss and landing little kicks and punches once in a while. Rd2: Kongolo throwing nice combos all round but must have a sore shin because he hasn't thrown any kicks only knees. Right at the end of the round Kongolo set up a perfect left hook to the liver and dropped Benmansour who gets up and is saved by the bell. Rd3: Benmansour is a tricky customer but it looks like Kongolo has his number this fight, Benmansour throwing lots but just doesn't have the power to move Kongolo back again with barely any time left in the last round Kongolo throws a left hook to the head, left hook to the body, and right hook the head and drops Benmansour who can't beat the count, KO win for Kongolo.

Heavyweight Co-Headline Bout: Guto Inocente def. D'Angelo Marshall by Split Dec - Rd1 - Marshall literally chasing Inocente around the ring non stop and not allowing him to make any distance to spin. Marshall landed some good punches and a few low kicks, while Guto was clinching moving to get away. Rd2: Starts off the same as the first, but then Guto clips Marshall with a right hand that drops him. Guto gets over aggressive after and gets caught a few times but seems to take them well. Rd3: Both big men tired but Marshall still able to land clean punches but he never seems to realize when he has Guto hurt. Looks like we should be going an extra round. ExRD: Sloppy round by two tired heavyweights, neither have power or balance anymore and mostly just clinching all round, minus a few right hands landed from Marshall, tough round to score.

Welterweight Tournament Semifinal Bout B: Karim Benmansour def. Alan Scheinson by Split Dec - Rd1: first time I've seen Scheinson, hes throwing powerful shots but looks a little stiff and not able to hit Benmansour clean, while Benmansour is landing his right hand often but with no power. Rd2: Nothing crazy happening in this round, neither fighter landing clean but lots throwing and missing. Benmansour is more active and landing more small stuff. Rd3: Benmansour landing lots of low kicks to the back leg of Scheinson this round and a nice spinning backfist while Scheinson looked tired and landed nothing all round.

Welterweight Tournament Semifinal Bout A: Yoann Kongolo def. Konstantin Khuzin by Unanimous Dec - Rd1: Khuzin doing well using his knee to keep Kongolo from getting too close but not landing it too hard, best shot of the fight was a right hand through the guard by Kongolo. Rd2: Kongolo getting inside better this round on the tall fighter, kongolo lands a nice spinnig back kick that hurts Khuzin but he stays up and still manages to keep Kongolo at bay for the rest of the round. Rd3: Khuzin looking worn out and Kongolo throwing combos like crazy, then Khuzin out of nowhere lands a very quick straight right and drops him but the ref doesn't count and Kongolo is very lucky, that would have caused a draw at least.

GLORY 37 SuperFight Series Results

Featherweight Title Headline Bout: Robin van Roosmalen def. Matt Embree by TKO Rd 4 (ref stoppage) - Rd1: Great round by both fighters, Embree's hands looking powerful and quick, but hes not blocking low kicks and ate about 6 or 7 clean. Embree used a few good front kicks to push Robin away. Rd2: Again Robin landing hard low kicks all round and Embree landing nice body punches and covering up well. Rd3: These are close rounds, Robin is pressuring but not landing clean punches, but neither is Embree, and it seems that unless Embree hits Robin on the chin hes just shrugging them all off. Rd4: Robin picks up the pressure and it looks like Embree is hitting a wall, RvR lands a liver punch that hurts Embree and then a barrage of punches and Big John McCarthy calls it off.

Heavyweight Co-Headline Bout: Jhonata Diniz def. Tomas Mozny by Unanimous Dec - Rd1: Mozny looking good early, keeping distance, landing some long punches and quick high kicks but Diniz stalking all fight and lands a right hand to drop Mozny with 10 seconds left in the round. Rd2: Mozny looking real tired and Diniz walking forward while Mozny falls all over the place. Nothing crazy landing apart from a good right hand from Diniz. Rd3: Diniz pushing forwards all round getting hit with a few jabs but not much else while landing decent low kicks and right hands on Mozny.

Middleweight Bout: Warren Thompson def. Mike Lemaire by Unanimous Dec - Rd1: Thompson pushing forward and throwing bombs when Lemaire is on the ropes while eating a few low kicks, but Thompson landed a good right hand that wobbled Lemaire. Rd2: More of the same this round, Lemaire can't handle the pressure that Thompson is bringing and is just ending up on the ropes for the whole round. Rd3: Both fighters are tired which works in Thompsons favor with his forward pressure and just leaning on Lemaire while throwing a few punches. Should be a first Glory win for Thompson.

Super Bantamweight Bout: Zoila Frausto def. Daniela Graf by Unanimous Dec

Featherweight Bout: Giga Chikadze def. Victor Pinto by KO Rd 1 (Liver Kick) - This fight was all Chikadze, he landed whatever he liked and Pinto landed nothing, 2:00 into the round he landed the liver kick and Pinto was in agony, game over.

Glory 41 Superfight Series Results

Heavyweight Headline Bout:
Rico Verhoeven def. Ismael Lazaar by Unanimous Dec (Rd1 Rico landing nice jabs and low kicks while Lazaar looking a little slow but is able to land a few uppercuts and take what Rico is giving then land a hard right hand to knock Ricos mouth guard into the crowd in the last seconds, Rd2 Lazaar is finding some success now with the overhand right and some low kicks but Rico consistently landing low kicks to the inside of the front and back legs and they are taking their toll, Lazaar cant wait too long because the damage will add up. Rd3 Rico scoring points but nothing looks to have power while Lazaar isnt throwing enough and when he does its too slow Rico sees most of it, Lazaar always dangerous though. Rd4 Lazaar becoming a punching bag now and looks to be losing his power from all the damage hes taken especially to the legs and body, didn't really land anything all round and got pot shotted by Rico with all sorts of strikes and some very nice technical combinations. Rd5 Lazaar is too tired even when he gets inside he has no power to hurt Rico, he landed a good left hook and uppercut in this round but that is all the rest of the round was Rico hitting a living heavy bag.

Featherweight World Title Bout:
Robin van Roosmalen def. Petchpanomrung Kiatmookao by Majority Dec (Rd1 RvR walking forwards but Petch kneeing and kicking with the left leg and doing well to slip or tie up when Robin gets close and RvR doesnt land much apart from low kicks. Rd2 Even better round from Petch now landing his counter left hand as well as his knees and kicks to the arms again Robin unable to land much of note. Rd3 Ref takes a point from Petch for clinching.... undeserved imo but great round for Petch pushing RvR back with his front kicks and knees to the body. Rd4 just like the other rounds with nothing big landing but Robin getting closer and closer to landing a big shot. Rd5 Robins best round he was able to land some good shots this round and even though Petchpanomrung just smiled they were still hard, clean punches)

Welterweight Bout:
Murthel Groenhart Def. Alan Scheinson by Split Dec (Murthel had the more damaging strikes with his big punches and left high kicks but Scheinson threw much more and landed a lot of good low kicks, close fight)

Light Heavyweight Bout:
Mourad Bouzidi def. Michael Duut by DQ Rd 2 (Rd1 Both fighters landing some glancing blows but Bouzidis low kicks were landing well after his left hook, Duut got cut with a Bouzidi elbow and Duut had a point taken for headbutting on the break. Rd2 Dirty fight with both guys clinching but Bouzidi refusing to take a step back caused Duut to clinch one too many times and after taking another point Paul Nichols disqualifies Duut for excessive clinching, anticlimax.)

Lightweight Bout:
Tyjani Beztati def. Youssef Assouik by Unanimous Dec (Rd1 Assouik misses a high kick and spins with the back fist and drops Beztati, Assouik unable to finish the fight and then Beztati drops Assouik with 20 seconds left in the round with a hard left hook. Rd2 Beztati coming out hard with punches this round and landing a nice combo in the middle of the round to drop Assouik, Assouik got up and stayed southpaw using his left kick well to survive the round. Rd3 Both fighters a little slower this round but Assouik needs a KO to win, Assouik keeping up with his kicks and Beztati trying to land combinations but nothing too significant this round, Great fight though)

Featherweight Bout:
Zakaria Zouggary def. Yetkin Ozkul by Unanimous Dec (Rd1 no feeling out here Ozkul lands some big shots in the first 10 seconds, Zouggary smiles and swings back, both fighters throwing some nice spinning kicks great round.
