Andy Souwer sure isn't waiting around to get fights. Recently, it was made known that he'll be fighting at Fighterzone Kickboxing World Series MAX in Singapore on February 25. Now, he has another fight.
Souwer will fight against arguably France's top 70kg figher, Johann Fauveau on May 19. The fight will be in Marseilles and held under the Urban Boxing United promotion banner. On the line will be the ISKA world title at 70kg.
Fauveau fought three times in 2011, after 2010 saw him dabble into pro boxing where he went 3-0. He also picked up one more win in boxing last year. In kickboxing, he fought three times, winning all three with his most notable victory being over Mickael Piscitello at It's Showtime's Lyon event in May. Despite not being that well known to many, Fauveau is actually a pretty good fighter.
I can see this match-up being quite fun, as Souwer and Fauveau have the styles to come together and make for an all out combination battle. Fauveau shouldn't be underestimated by anyone. Just remember when Andy Souwer fought Abraham Roqueni (The decision/knockdown aside). I see this as being a similar situation with Souwer going to a fighter who is very good but isn't well known's home turf. Not saying Souwer will lose, but Fauveau shouldn't be seen as an easy opponent.
