In just a few weeks time at GLORY 42 the kickboxing world will get the rematch that they’ve been waiting for when former welterweight kingpin Nieky Holzken gets his chance for revenge against the current champion, Cedric Doumbe. Undoubtedly Doumbe has gotten into Holzken’s head — he did in their first meeting — but will that carry over?
GLORY put their spotlight on both fighters, first Holzken.
Doumbe seems as confident as ever, as perhaps he should be, especially after completely outclassing career rival Yoann Kongolo in his first title defense. Doumbe is young, brash, talented and able to do things that most fighters can only say that they’ll do; he actually gets them done.
Come June 10th we’ll have some answers. Until then, the trash talk will continue.
